Synopsis:
Land and Kurdistan, beyond being a documentary on the political situation of Kurdistan, is an intimate portrait of the relations that are created between the Kurdish people and the internationalists who arrive there. It is an inner journey, to the experiences, feelings and contradictions that face in this process of knowledge and learning. A trip through Kurdistan, to the areas of Bakur and Rojava, located under the occupation of Turkey and Syria

The trip was dedicated to knowing how autonomy is built in Kurdistan, dealing with the main axes of the struggle of the Kurdish people: feminism, ecology, education, repression and health.

Throughout the documentary we know two different ways to build this project. On the one hand Rojava, which has the total autonomy of a liberated territory within the borders of Syria, greatly influenced by the Syrian revolution of 2011. On the other side, Turkey, where the Kurdish liberation movement has two sides with common objectives: the parliamentary path of the HDP and the various self-management projects and assemblies that flourish despite the dictatorial persecution of the government, which has jailed numerous activists, journalists, intellectuals, deputies.

In addition to visiting numerous institutions, groups, and local authorities, we spend a lot of time with the people who build this dream from the base, sharing many intimate and emotional moments. It is there, in this experience of coexistence with the people who live in Kurdistan, where we understand the dimension of this movement, which goes beyond the political institutions and collectives that work for democratic confederalism.

Synopsis:

„Land und Kurdistan“ – mehr als eine Dokumentation über die politische Situation in Kurdistan, ist der Film ein intimes Portrait der Beziehungen zwischen dem kurdischen Volk und den Internationalisten, die sich dort aufhalten. Es ist eine innere Reise durch Erfahrungen, Gefühle und Widersprüche, die ihnen im Lernprozess begegnen. Eine Reise durch Kurdistan, in die von der Türkei und Syrien besetzten Regionen Bakur und Rojava.

Eine Reise, die angetreten wurde, um den Aufbau der Autonomie Kurdistans kennenzulernen, mitsamt der Hauptachsen des kurdischen Kampfes: Feminismus, Ökologie, Bildung, Repression und Gesundheit.

Der Film weist zwei unterschiedliche Wege dieses Projektes auf. Auf der einen Seite Rojava, mit einer absoluten Autonomie über ein befreites Territorium innerhalb der syrischen Grenzen, stark beeinflusst durch die syrische Revolution 2011. Auf der anderen Seite die Türkei, in der die kurdische Freiheitsbewegung zwei Strategien mit gleicher Zielsetzung fährt: Zum einen den parlamentarischen Weg der HDP und zum anderen den Weg der vielen selbstorganisierten Projekte und Gemeinschaften, die trotz der diktatorischen Verfolgung und Festnahme von zahlreichen Aktivisten, Journalisten, Intellektuellen und Abgeordneten überall aus dem Boden zu sprießen scheinen.

Außer dem Besuch vieler Institutionen, Gruppen und lokaler Autoritäten, verbrachten wir viel Zeit mit den Menschen, die diesen Traum von der Basis aus aufbauen und teilten viele intime und emotionale Momente. Erst durch die Koexistenz mit den in Kurdistan lebenden Menschen wird uns die Dimension dieser Bewegung bewusst, die über politische Institutionen und für demokratischen Konföderalismus arbeitende Kollektive hinausgeht.
